Julian Beecroft is a freelance writer specialising in the arts and culture. He has previously written books on the painters Monet, Renoir and Salvador Dali, and has also contributed pieces on travel and visual art to the Guardian, The Telegraph and The London Magazine, among other web and print publications. In 2011, he travelled across Canada in search of the painters Tom Thomson and the Group of Seven, writing about his journey for London's Dulwich Picture Gallery and for the Groninger Museum in the Netherlands.
